Inside the US’s Leading Crowd Management, Security Company
From the Super Bowl to the local University of Nevada- Reno football games, Hermansen reveals all the logistics of managing security for these noteworthy experiences in an interview.Behind the scenes of every football game at the beloved University of Nevada– Reno campus, and at popular concerts and festivals hosted in Reno, an organization stands guard: the Contemporary Services Corporation, or CSC. This nationwide security company has certainly amassed an impressive record of events ranging from the Olympic Games to Presidential Inaugurations, to even FIFA World Cups! This company is sure to be reliable in their expertise. In the midst of hiring and organizing for the upcoming Super Bowl, the office manager of CSC’s Reno branch, Rick Hermansen, was graciously able to sit down outside the office to answer questions for an interview. Despite his demanding schedule, he helped shed some light on his responsibilities managing over 150 employees and how he initially came into it. Entering the entertainment service field with only a “fake it til’ you make it” attitude, his greatest accomplishments include hiring for two Super Bowls and being able to learn how to run the Reno branch with only the experience he had. Although newly hired in Las Vegas in April of 2022, after the former director of operations submitted their termination in December, Hermansen was asked to relocate and take over operations. With limited initial experience in such a significant role, some of the responsibilities he’s had to take on include learning how to perform duties regarding human resources and becoming a salesperson. Suddenly being responsible for the welfare of 150+ employees with only one other in the office has left him with little to no time to himself.
