the Grave Accusations Against Him

Norman Bates Was Perfectly Nice to Me, a Guest at Bates Motel, So I Refuse to Believe the Grave Accusations Against Him

When I arrived at the Bates Motel late in the evening, tired and travel worn, Norman offered to carry my suitcase to my room. Imagine that! A standard courtesy offered by hotels across the world. You’re telling me that that man is—quite separate from and in addition to being a courteous host—a predator and psychopath? Please. During my brief but undoubtedly sufficient interaction with Norman, he was a polite, charming young man, who took time out of his busy schedule to give me a personal tour of his taxidermy collection. I don't believe for one second he would cleave a woman's head from her body. Norman is a family man, very dedicated to his Mother, apparently (although I never met her). Together, they have painstakingly built a quaint local business from the ground up. Am I to understand that a man like that - a businessman, an entrepreneur, a pillar of the local community - enjoys the totally unrelated pursuits of voyeurism and murder? I, a person who behaves identically towards every individual I ever encounter, reject that premise. Listen to yourself! Norman is an American citizen. He makes a perfectly adequate ham sandwich. The man can eat as much gluten as he wants, for goodness sake! Do you mean to say that a man like that also suffers from an unassociated mental health condition conducive to a murderous rampage? Would a killer put complimentary shortbread on the nightstand? My stay couldn't have been nicer. There was a tiny hole in the shower wall, but, other than that, perfection. I certainly never felt violated by the gaze of a pervert and killer, and, if I did, what did I expect getting naked in the privacy of my own hotel room? I stayed at the Bates Motel and I'm as healthy as a horse. Shouldn't the fact that he does not mutilate 100% of his clientele be evidence in his defence? It's a total smear campaign by women who have nothing to gain and everything to lose. If anything happened at all with Ms. Crane…
